Blogging for peace in the heart in Mindanao-Marawi

Peace as being defined by Mr Abdul into 4 components peace within yourself, between you and god, your relationship to people, to neighbors and to the environment.

Mindanao-Marawi is not all about war. This is not a war zone where in fact there are many students here that is came from other places who studied in here and safely graduated and are professionals today.
Last November 30, 2016 we the marketing 111 students together with our instructor Prof. Richard Celeste  promotes our advocacy for peace in Mindanao. We have our tour inside the MSU .We all know that news is very bias this is the power of social media . It was being the highlight in the news that    there was a bomb here in Marawi and it is not true.

We as a students that is currently studying here try to help Mindanao-Marawi by capturing and saying our thoughts about it. I hope that everyone  will not be one sided only and I hope that everyone  will do the same. Simple action even though just a little bit it gives a very big help.

               PROUD TO BE A MINDANAON.

Mini Forum

Last November 30, 2016 the mini forum was held at CBAA Canteen with the guest speaker sultan of Marawi, executive officer, Mr. Abdul Hamidullah Atar. It was my great pleasure to meet and listen to his talk.

One of the highlight that Mr. Abdul talked about is peace. Mr Abdul shared about the reasons and the impact to the indigenous people about the doctrine. Then after that he also shared the 5 approaches of Quran such as social contract, reconciliation, good governance, economic development and freedom. Social contract is all about the protection, respect especially in terms of religion. Reconciliation means that the girl should have the right also, good economic development means that those “pautang”  should be demolished and lastly the freedom that those people who are slave were no longer be a slave. See how these approaches are. In talking about freedom then peace was defined by Mr Abdul into 4 components the peace within yourself, between you and god, your relationship to people, to neighbors and to the environment. Muslims is composed of many tribes, one of those is Meranao. Meranao is homogenous means they are a group that protected their    relatives or each other.

Mr.ABDUL HAMIDULLAH ATAR

I learned something that afternoon and I also I realized something important that Muslims should not be judged by everyone.

Familiarization Tour

Familiarization tour sounds great and exciting. Doing this kind of
activity is not just for fun but also promoting the beauty of MSU as well as peace to everyone. Let’s check it out.

Last November 30, 2016 the marketing 111 together with our
instructor Prof. Richard Celeste conducted a tour in MSU. Assembly is in our college, 6:30 a.m. our first destination is in MSU 3D everyone took photos on it and we conducted an exercise with the beautiful sunrise behind us. How beautiful the creations made by GOD. Second destination is in the place where it is cold not because it is raining but because of the tall tress surrounded in the place. Most color that you noticed is green and it is so refreshing in that place. Third is in golf course, the wide and beautiful golf course ever a place where you can unwind and relax. It is so fresh in there that you don’t want to go home because of the atmosphere of the place. We have our
parlor games there and it is so enjoyable. Forth destination is in
Aga Khan museum where you can saw the different preserved and cultural artifacts of meranao people. Fifth is in Ayala resort where you can take a look the wonderful views there and also the different houses that represents the different tribe of muslims. Sixth is in the KFCIAAS where you can find the big masjid (Muslims church) and lastly is in the entrance of MSU.

The tour was very successful though it is so hot but it is all worth it because in my 3 years here in MSU it is my first time to visit some of those places.

AGA KHAN MUSEUM

AGA KHAN MUSEUM

One of the significant landmarks in Marawi City “Aga Khan Museum”.
Last November 30, 2016 in our familiarization tour in MSU one of our stops is in Aga Khan Museum. Accordingly Aga Khan  is named after Prince Karim Aga Khan IV , where donation made the construction of the building possible. It was opened on June 13, 1962.
The inauguration of the Aga Khan museum of Islamic arts was on March 23, 1969 attended by miss Gemma Cruz-Araneta who gave brief remarks before the ceremonial ribbon cutting. It was also attended by senators Domocao Alonto and Mamintal Tamano Listen. The ribbon was cutted by miss Geneva Cruz-Araneta that uses the meranao kris to officially open the museum and assisted by Dr. Antonio Isidro, Mrs Isidro and Mrs. Linang Mandangan.

There is also a picture of the first commencement exercise 1966 it was attended by late President Ferdinanand Marcos together with his better half.

What’s inside the Aga Khan?  There are many cultural artifacts that were preserved. Check it out. . .

Meranao culture is very unique and until now they preserved their cultural artifacts, they gave value to all of them which is good and inspiring.
Exploring the Aga Khan makes me think how beautiful and amazing it is. In my 3 years of staying in MSU it is my second time to visit Aga Khan but still it never fails to amaze me.

Successful Enterprise

“The secret of a business is to know something that nobody else knows”
-Aristotle
Successful business enterprise?  Let’s check it out what enterprise is it in our hometown.
Ferdinand multipurpose cooperative in our barangay is just one of those branches from the main cooperatives located in our neighbor barangay, barangay Ferdinand. The cooperative started in the year 1990 with less than 20 members contributed not less 300 pesos per member. The cooperative existed 26 years and is obviously have developments and improvements.
Prior to what they have achieved now the cooperative encountered problems not only in managing their inventories but also to their cashiers and sales ladies and men.  Accordingly there are not less than 10 cashiers have been replaced within 26 years. Now  if I am to judge how is the new cashier, I can say that she is better among those before her, she is serving for almost ten years now and making significant improvements such as recently the cooperative expanded their store and have a lot new items for sale.
Regarding their inventories problem the cooperative officers tried their best to manage their purchases and find ways to increase their sales per item using the strategy of lowering the price even if they only earn at least a profit of one peso item and that is accordingly an effective strategy.
Success is nothing without the cooperation of everyone and most especially the proper management of the managers or the officers.

Digital Marketing Skills Training

Last October 23, 2016 the digital marketing skills training was successfully done at Iligan Computer Institute, Iligan City. The program was hosted by Ms. Jeansen Lanticse and Mr. Kryss John Santilan. The program             was started by a prayer followed our national anthem and a welcome message by our adviser in Marketing 111 Prof. Richard S. Celeste.
The first speaker was Mr Junriel Bonachita, Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer RIS Philippines; he talked about basic programming one commerce site development and content management software.  He taught us how to make an e commerce site since we are actually making it for our subject. He shared many tips and techniques, next speaker with the line “pag may wifi, may hanapbuhay”, Mr Ronald Ramboanga known for Miss Piper the founder and CEO of Knights Of Online Marketers who talked about how to start working as an online freelancer. Listening to all his experiences or the story behind their success is so inspiring. The KOM was started in small in a place that is small but at least they are comfortable and later on it becomes a big one when their clients are increasing. He provides work to his friends, how good his heart is. Not just for them but also in the community. I think this is one of the reasons why their business is successful. Next is the founder and CEO of RIS Philippines Mr. Johnny Paul H. Lagura who talked about digital opportunities through rural impact sourcing and he also share something inspiring about their company.
In the afternoon Mr Ronald Rambonga talked about the basics of social media marketing. He discussed all about Facebook and how to make a page on Facebook. The things we must do importantly and some techniques in posting our products online. Next is Miss Xerxes Queen Apostol Libre an enterprise owner, Dexter Print House who talked about Graphics Designing. Honestly this topic is difficult but Ms .Xerxes tries her best to make it simple to us. This is interesting, she shared the different uses of Photoshop and how to lay out a tarpaulin. Last speaker is Mr. Francis Steve Martinez enterprise owner Tibo Martinez videography who talked about the tips and tricks on creating awesome videos. And I learned and discovered that making or working this one is not that easy and I really find it difficult but interesting because if you are master in this kind of skills or talent then money is very easy to find.
The skills training were successfully done. It gives me more knowledge about social media because now a days you should be aware about social media it can helps you a lot and there is a big possibility that you will become rich because of social media.
“Be curious always! For knowledge will not acquire you: you must acquire it.” -Sudie Back
